Managing Your FurKid Profile
Your FurKid profile is the foundation of great pet care. A complete, accurate profile helps sitters provide personalized care and ensures nothing important gets missed while you’re away.
Pet Profiles
Adding a New Pet
For each pet you add, include:
- Name and Photo — Helps the sitter bond with your pet right away
- Breed, Age, and Weight — Critical for medication dosing, exercise needs, and diet
- Sex and Spay/Neuter Status — Relevant for behavior and health considerations
- Color and Markings — Helps with identification and走失情况
Be thorough and honest:
- Medications — Name, dosage, schedule, and administration method (pill, liquid, injection)
- Allergies — Food, environmental, and medication allergies
- Medical Conditions — Diabetes, arthritis, anxiety, heart conditions, etc.
- Diet — Food brand, portion size, feeding times, and treat restrictions
- Vet Info — Primary vet name, phone, address, and preferred emergency clinic
Behavior and Routine
The more detail, the better the care:
- Temperament — Friendly, shy, anxious, reactive, high energy, laid back
- Socialization — Good with dogs, cats, kids, strangers? Any triggers?
- Exercise Needs — Walk length, frequency, off-leash rules, favorite routes
- Sleep Habits — Where they sleep, bedtime routine, any night wakings
- Hiding Spots — Where they retreat when scared — so the sitter doesn’t panic if your pet disappears
- Favorite Toys and Games — Helps the sitter bond and keep your pet happy
- House Rules — Furniture allowed? Counter surfing? Crate trained? Room restrictions?
Add at least two contacts:
- Primary Contact — You, with phone and email
- Local Backup — A neighbor, friend, or family member who can help in person
- Vet Contact — Your regular veterinarian
- Emergency Vet — 24-hour clinic closest to your home
Your Account Settings
Keep your email, phone number, and address current. Sitters may need to reach you during a stay.
Payment Methods
Add a credit or debit card for secure payments. FurKid uses industry-standard encryption. You can:
- Add multiple payment methods
- Set a default card
- View your billing history
- Update or remove cards anytime
Notification Preferences
Choose how you want to hear from FurKid:
- Booking Confirmations — Email and/or SMS
- Sitter Messages — Real-time notifications
- Photo Updates — Push or SMS alerts
- Promotions — Optional deals and feature announcements
Subscription Plans
FurKid offers optional memberships for frequent pet parents:
- Pay Per Visit — Free to join. Pay only when you book. No monthly fees.
- FurKid Plus — $15/month (annual). 5% off every booking, priority sitter access, unlimited meet-and-greets, and 24/7 support.
- FurKid Family — $29/month (annual). 10% off every booking, same-day booking guarantee, and a dedicated account manager.
You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel anytime from your account settings.
Privacy and Security
Data Protection
FurKid encrypts all personal information and payment details. We never sell your data to third parties. Review our Privacy Policy for full details.
Profile Visibility
- Your pet profile details are shared only with sitters you book or request a meet-and-greet with
- Your reviews are public and help other pet parents
- Your contact information is not visible to other pet parents
Keeping Your Profile Updated
Life changes — and your profile should reflect that:
- New Medication? Update immediately before the next booking
- Diet Change? Adjust feeding instructions before the sitter arrives
- Behavior Shift? Note any new anxiety, aggression, or preferences
- New Pet? Add them before searching for a sitter
- Moved? Update your address so sitters can find you
